Kelly Clarkson and her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock finally settled the finances in relation to their Montana ranch. Since separating, the two have fought over who receives ownership of their old home. This was a large setback in the divorce considering Blackstock was residing in the ranch. Despite the fact that a judge awarded the property to Clarkson, he refused to leave.

The fight over the Montana ranch is now complete as new court documents state Clarkson agreed to give Blackstock 5.12% of the property, or $908,000 of the ranch’s total $17,750,000 value. This document was filed in Los Angeles, CA, on Thursday. On top of their financial agreement, the documents stated that Blackstock does not have any ownership interest in the property.

Clarkson became the ranch’s sole owner in October. Since then, she continued to legally fight for it since Blackstock was still living there. In December, the singer’s attempt to evict her ex-husband was denied. At the time, Blackstock did not have the means to purchase the property. He argued in court stating that the home was “marital property” and continued to live there after their 2020 split.

The Past of Clarkson and Blackstock’s Divorce

This coach on The Voice‘s tough divorce has definitely not slowed down since initial court hearings. In July, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $200,000 a month in spousal and child support. $200,000 was the overall settlement, but Blackstock originally requested $436,000 a month from the singer.

This couple originally split in 2020, but got legal declaration of divorce last July. Clarkson fought for legal divorce so her and her ex-husband could begin a new life. In August, a judge declared the singer legally single. This happened exactly a year and three months after she filed for divorce.

“Kelly is more than fine. She is doing great and facing forward,” a source close to the singer shared in August. “She’s enjoying the fact that she has the kids for the vast majority of the time and is enjoying time spent with them.”

Clarkson was granted primary physical custody of their children, River Rose (7) and Remington Alexander (5) last November. Since this all went down, Clarkson publicly talked about lightening up her workload to spend more time with her kids.

Originally, the couple agreed that Blackstock would spend Thanksgiving and December 19 through the 25 with the kids. It was also mutually agreed that he would FaceTime their kids daily, be able to see them on the first and fifth weekends of the month in L.A., and the third weekend in Montana. Updated information in regard to their children’s custody has not been shared at this time.

It’s understood that Clarkson is currently residing in her new home located in Toluca Lake, California with both River and Remington. The singer bought this home in June 2021 and has shared that moving into a different living space made her feel better amid the ongoing divorce.
